SERI’s founder and staff share an ultimate goal of developing a comprehensive treatment program to address a desperate need in the Fresno community: at-risk adolescents. In Fresno, adolescents at extreme risk for future involvement with the criminal justice system are often underprivileged and are under accessed by the standard system of mental health care. SERI’s long term plan is to address this need by developing a validated treatment protocol and providing a wide range of services, from family therapy to residential treatment for “out-of-control” teenagers. Currently SERI is working to develop this protocol and garner support in order to secure funding for this massive project.
